INNER & OUTER YOGA
Private Yoga Lessons
I offer personalised one to one yoga lessons and group corporate classes in Leeds to complete beginners and to experienced yoga practitioners. I have over ten years teaching experience, and have taught numerous clients of mixed abilities privately in London, Dubai and Leeds.
I am registered with Yoga Alliance 200hrs, and I have completed Yoga Alliance Advanced Yoga Teacher Training 500hr qualification. I hold a Reps Level 3 Yoga Teacher certificate and Reps teaching insurance.
Why one to one yoga?
My private yoga lessons are tailored to each person’s ability, goals and specific needs. You may wish to focus on fitness & strengthening, reducing stress & anxiety, counteracting a sedentary lifestyle, improving the quality of your sleep, or simply taking some time out of a busy schedule to reconnect and find balance.
You may have a specific physical aim such as to reduce lower back pain, relieve tight shoulders, strengthen the core, improve flexibility; I work with you to meet these goals.
My one to one yoga lessons have the benefits of saving you time travelling to a studio before or after work, allowing you to set a day and time that’s convenient for your schedule, and are held in the comfort of your own home.
This method helps you to commit to a regular yoga practice as the lessons are delivered to you.
Having one consistent teacher enables continuity of practice, as I am fully aware of your ability and needs.
Who are private yoga classes suitable for?
Private lessons are suitable for all ages.
The sessions are for all levels of experience from people with no experience of yoga, those who have taken a few studio classes & regular practitioners. I offer lessons to absolute beginners to intermediate & advanced students.
If you are a complete beginner and feel a little nervous about joining a group class, one to one lessons give you an introduction to yoga at a pace that’s right for you. I am encouraging and have a soft approach; the sessions are not intimidating but allow you to build confidence in your new practice. I give clear instructions throughout the class, physical demonstrations, verbal cues and optional hands-on adjustments so that you are guided with ease.
One to one lessons also work well if you have some experience in yoga, but would like more individual attention. I can design sessions that are progressively more challenging, which keeps the practice fresh and enjoyable, allowing you to advance in your practice.
What do we do in the sessions?
I do an initial consultation to gauge your experience, what your aims are, what you’d like to focus on, and if you have any physical/ health conditions to take in to consideration e.g. injuries, pain, recent surgery, pregnancy or post-natal.
The lessons generally include breathing techniques, physical postures, relaxation and a short meditation. However some people prefer to focus more on the physical practice, or to have longer relaxation. I ask for feedback after the sessions to check the pacing is suitable and if you’d like to spend more or less time on one area of the practice, or to target a specific area of the body.
Style of yoga
I teach Hatha and Vinyasa Flow yoga. I offer slow paced Hatha yoga, ideal for complete beginners, and a more dynamic Vinyasa Flow practice. It often works that we begin with a slower paced Hatha class to learn the basics in alignment, and then progress to a flow.
As our energy levels fluctuate, it may be that we change the pacing of the class according to how you feel that day. If you are feeling exhausted one week, we can practice a slower paced class with a longer relaxation period to restore energy. For females at certain times of your cycle we may adopt a more nurturing, soft style of class.
If you are feeling like you need to expend more energy, the session can be more invigorating. I will check in with you before each session begins to gauge what is more appropriate that day.
When and where do the lessons take place?
One to one yoga lessons take place on weekdays before work, in the evenings after work, or at weekends.
The lessons can be for one person, for a couple or for a small group at your home.
I teach in Central Leeds and surrounding areas.

Yoga classes at your company are a fantastic way to counterbalance desk based work. A yoga practice works on tight hip flexors, back ache, hunched shoulders, slouched posture, weak abdominals which can develop from a prolonged sedentary working life.
The mental benefits are as important as the physical gains. Yoga can help to reduce stress by calming the mind through breath work, mindful movement, a long relaxation pose and meditation.
It can be difficult to find the time to travel to a yoga studio before or after 9-5 working hours, so having the yoga class come to your work saves time and energy, and ensures that you keep up a regular practice.
If your company is interested in booking yoga classes, then we can do a consultation to decide on the style and level that is appropriate, which can further be adjusted as the weeks progress.
For corporate classes it will be necessary to provide your own mats and to wear clothes that you can stretch in.
Classes can take place before work, at lunchtime, or after work.
Pricing for group corporate classes:
45 min - £45
60 min - £55
